Post Fight Practice Music?
One thing I just realized is missing from our church practices is the boombox/iPod setup we would sometimes use at the studios, to randomly put a soundtrack to fights people are practicing and get them "in the mood".

I admit we didn't do it all that often at the studios, but often enough that someone who has one could bring a boombox or something? Something that has a "Line In", at any rate. I don't have one. I could load up my iPod with "fight music" and start bringing it to class (or we all could)...

See here, of course, for the classic thread on fight music. :)

I have a set of computer speakers that has a subwoofer, we can use that for practices. It hooks up to anything with a standard headphone jack.

Awesome, that'd be great! Now who wants to make an epic mix of music on their mp3 player?

Ok so as far as a mix goes I got bored one night and started taking the original fight music thread and following the youtube links... and converting them to mp3. Some of the links are broken and if you titled them I found them if not send me a {preferably not insanely long} list of songs you want and I'll get them.

So, long story short.

I have a file on my computer of everyone's (who posted) fight music. Conveniently, but computer i mean laptop so it can come with me to practice. Also I still have the speaker setup I can throw in my bag.

Music makes the dead ones deader... [glances at Tempto] I have no idea what it'll do to him.. I assume it'll create post mortem convulsions. 'Cuz the living like to dance so I guess there'll be a combined effect?

Hah... bored much? Looking for something "productive" to do before class tomorrow?

I'm not sure we ever fought to music with lyrics, much... probably my fault: the link I posted earlier was to the thread about music that you think syncs with your character, not necessarily something you'd fight to... my bad... still... it would be good to have... I'd love a rockin' class... :D

Traditionally fight practice / fight music in class has been whatever Roy (or Jinduri) put on, usually instrumental stuff from movie and video game soundtracks - SW, Pirates, Batman, LOTR, etc.

Other things I know we like:
Coheed and Cambria - Welcome Home - Instrumental (unofficial remix using Rock Band tracks)
Disturbed - Inside the Fire (Instrumental if available)

SaberWars has a thread like this too, it goes for five pages:
http://www.saberwars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=498

BTW - downloading music from Youtube? Really? You know how compressed the audio gets, right? :) I can't specifically endorse a music piracy website, but I can recommend not to use Youtube for this purpose...

I know this sounds like a lot of criticism, but really, I mean to say thank you instead. So thanks.

Also looking forward to Roy's music mix :D

Roy brought his mix yesterday, but although we checked out the church's boomboxes and such, we ended up lacking speakers. There's always next time! :)

I'll also work on getting an iPod dock/speakers too, so there's always someone who has something. :D
